Tickets and Room Setup/Takedown:

Tickets will be required for everyone except NIH Clinical Center patients. Tickets must be ordered by Friday, September 7 to allow time to mail them. For members, they are provided as a benefit of membership. For others, the requested donation (for those able to pay) is $125 per person or $175 for a family.

We will need to set up the room at the Leland Center before the evening services and put the chairs away after the morning services. Accordingly, everyone receiving tickets (who is physically able) is being asked to select one of four times to help in this activity: Rosh Hashanah evening (setup), Rosh Hashanah morning (takedown), Kol Nidre (setup) or Yom Kippur morning (takedown). This involves arriving about an hour before services to help set up, or staying up to an hour after services to help take down the room. Please select your time when you order your tickets.

For tickets, please send your donation, your selection of setup/takedown time, and a stamped, self-addressed envelope to Charles Walters, 6509 Goldsboro Road, Bethesda, MD 20817. Information on tickets can also be obtained by calling Amy Walters at (301) 466-9459.

For information on Congregation Bet Chesed, see our web site at http://www.betchesed.org, or call Rabbi Brenner's study (301-762-4241) or Stan Klein (301-881-4087).

Prayerbook:

We will use the gender-neutral version of the New Union Prayerbook for the Days of Awe. A limited number of copies will be available for NIH patients. Others are expected to provide their own copies. (The older non-gender-neutral version can also be used by adjusting for the changes in the English translations.)  Rabbi Brenner is getting High Holiday prayerbooks under an arrangement with the Central Conference of American Rabbis. To get a copy, write a separate check for $36 per copy to "Rabbi's Fund". Mark the memo section "High Holiday Prayerbook." Mail the check with your check for the tickets. We will have the prayerbook copies at the services.

Children:

There will not be a separate childrens' service, and we have not arranged for babysitting. Children are our future. Parents are encouraged to bring children to the regular service, but for young children, parents may need to parent.
